The sculpture is fully made out of clay in Trompe l'Oeil style.

I have started to work with clay about 15 years ago as a potter, mainly throwing kitchenware on the pottery wheel. I had a very comfortable pair of hiking boots which became my working shoes at that time. That pair of shoes supported me each day for hours in the ceramic studio.

It still serves its purpose.

I have decided to create this sculpture to honor them the way they look these days.
