Thomas Ascough
Thomas Ascough is a composer and sound designer who specializes in Neo-Classical Fantasy music for games and animation. His style combines orchestra with a variety of elements from electronic, rock and world music genres. In 2017 Ascough received his bachelors in music production from Full Sail University, graduating with honors and immediately moved to Los Angeles to get involved with the film and music industry. He worked as a studio technician at Pop Music Studios and sold audio devices during this time while scoring on a variety of independent short films and documentaries. Through a scoring competition his entry was chosen to be included on a production music album which led to him composing for several music libraries. In 2020 he moved to San Francisco to continue his studies at Academy of Art University in pursuit of an MFA in Music scoring and Composition for Film and Visual Media. During this time he focused a great deal on game design and development, collaborating frequently with the game department as a composer and music implementer and producing several of his own independent games and web projects. Currently he continues as a regular contributor to the award winning music library CrimeSonics and has recently co-founded SF Audio Guild Llc, an ambitious Social Sound Design platform to produce and share audio assets for game development. While Thomas Ascough has produced many genres, he is most excited to compose action-packed, positive, bright and thrilling music that brings joy and fantastical elements to the lives of those who hear it.
