The versatility of the ceramic medium never ceases to amaze me. Just a bag of clay can be made into pottery, sculptures, jewelry, and so much more. I have always loved working with ceramics and I wanted to push myself to implement some new styles into the medium.

With that being said, I combined my love for pottery, sculpture, and doodling into the pieces I created. I draw inspiration from the many buildings in San Francisco that are decorated with street art or graffiti, and from my over active imagination. I'm always doodling and illustrating my interactions with the city in my sketchbook, so for the work I included I wanted to give life to my sketchbook by turning my doodles into 3-D sculptures and pottery. The field of ceramics and its community are always changing and I want to be a part of that change.
