Yachen Xie is a Fashion Design student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco California. Her perspective on fashion is highly multicultural and interdisciplinary, having grown up with traditional Chinese fashion as well as having studied architecture and fashion in the US. The project included in her spring show submission is a collaboration with a Textile Design student, Voonbin Leow. Yachen’s designs incorporate Art Deco inspired geometry through precise folds in the fabric.
